But here again the payment to the University will have to be made in Hong Kong dollars and not in sterling because as I have explained above the sterling value of the

Hong Kong dollars fluctuates.

7.

Turning to the post-graduate scholarships tenable

in England, the present suggestion is two such scholarshi s awarded every year. It is suggested that the value of each

scholarship should be fixed at £1,000, irrespective of the

length of the schol: rship's tenure. It is estimated that the

scholarship would be ordinarily tenable for 2 years, but if

a scholar remained longer this ould not affect the cost of

this scholarship scheme. The cost of this scholarship schere

may be thus stated:-
